Executive Training means different things to different people. At SPEC, executive training means shortening executives’ time-to-competence in today’s increasingly demanding leadership roles. It means focusing unwaveringly on business performance, on increasing executives’ effectiveness in managing real time business issues.

SPEC recognizes the pressure that high-performing leaders face today to implement strategic initiatives, strengthen relationships with key constituencies and stakeholders, and meet the demands of dynamic and changing markets. We believe that executive training and leadership development consulting should drive business results by addressing critical performance needs. A leader’s individual commitment and passion, enhanced by the support of a strong executive training, can help motivate employees to achieve and surpass organizational goals, even in times of uncertainty and change.

Performance Analysis

SPEC consults with the organization to analyze and evaluate the results of each training assignment. We seek input from both the clients of the training process and the customer organization.

Networking

Monthly Networking Sessions are held for members and job seekers. Veteran speakers from various industries are invited to enlighten the participants on career-related topics and business opportunities. There are also opportunities for participants to network among themselves.

Talks/ Workshops

SPEC regularly conducts career management workshops for members and job seekers.

About SPUR

SPUR or Skills Programme for Upgrading and Resilience, is an enhanced financial support scheme developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). Employers and workers will pay lower course fee and receive higher absentee payroll subsidy under SPUR when they send their staff to or attend SPUR Courses delivered by approved providers. The enhanced funding support will be in place for 2 years from 1 Dec 2008.

SPEC / SHRI currently offers the following WSQ programmes funded under SPUR:

Employability Skills System (ESS)
Service Excellence Workforce Skills Qualifications (SE WSQ)
Certified Service Professional (CSP)

SPEC is founded by Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) in May 2000.

Launched in the aftermath of the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997 and 1998, SPEC helped Singaporean professionals and executives who were retrenched. SPEC to look for jobs and also helped those whose jobs were affected by the severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars) scare in 2003 and the rapid restructuring of the economy.

SPEC strives to create a “harbour of lives and opportunities” for Singapore’s professionals, managers, executives, businessmen and self-employed (PMEBS). A new economy co-operative, SPEC aims to be a dynamic and efficient source of help for its members to thrive and seek gainful employment.
