GLOBAL COMMODITY MANAGER (INDIRECT)

Molex Incorporated is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electronic connectors

in terms of revenue. Net revenue was US$3.4 billion for calendar year 2010. Today, we

operate 39 manufacturing locations in 16 countries, and employ over 35,000 people

worldwide. Our core business is the manufacture and sale of electronic components.

Our products are used by a large number of leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)

throughout the world. We design, manufacture and sell more than 100,000 products,

including terminals, connectors, planar cables, cable assemblies, interconnection systems,

backplanes, integrated products and mechanical and electronic switches. We also provide

manufacturing services to integrate specific components into a customer’s product.

Our engineering, development and manufacturing capabilities are organized into three

product divisions, all serviced by the Molex Global Sales and Marketing Division.

Responsibilities

* - This position will report to the Director of Purchasing and will be based in

the Asia Pacific South (APS) regional office located in Singapore

* - Participate in the execution of global shared-services strategies to meet Molex’s

overall procurement shared services strategy. This includes meeting customer, EH&S

and any other regulatory or industry requirements.

* - Serve as a member of a global category council and steer stakeholders towards

the common commodity strategy

- Identify suppliers to support new initiatives

- Working with stakeholders to define and execute negotiation strategy,

negotiation schedule and supplier-selection criteria

- Lead negotiation with industry benchmarks/pricing targets/data

(fact-based negotiations) and knowledge-sharin

- Overall responsibility for identifying supply sources. Driving initiatives to continually

improve each Division’s sourcing efforts and related costs.

- Responsible for cost negotiations and provision of commercial sourcing expertise

to all functional budget holders incurring Indirect Spend costs.

- Identify supply risks to supply/cost and develop plan to mitigate risks

- Drive commodity-level costs-reduction

- Build Supplier Relationship and secure access and collaboration with suppliers’

executive management

- Drive continuous improvement programs at suppliers

- Drive supplier partnership and collaboration at all levels

- Monitor and continuously improve Lead Time, Inventory, Quality performance,

and Supply Assurance

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Business or other related discipline

- CPM/CPSM, CIRM, CPIM certification is preferred

- 6-10 years of procurement experience in high-tech component industry with

- 6 years of leadership experience

- Relevant skills and experience in strategic category planning, TCO understanding

& analysis, financial modeling/analysis, negotiations, contract management and supplier

relationship management

- Regional or global experience is preferred

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procurement-related systems, preferably

with experience in SAP

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills

- A sense of urgency, high energy and self-motivated

- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in both

- English and Mandarin is essential

- Travel is required
