Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) is the only not-for-profit

maintaining high standards of professionalism in human resource management and
development.
An active player in the regional
HR scene, SHRI is a member of the Asia Pacific Federation of HRM (APFHRM). SHRI
is further affirmed of its contribution to the HR profession when Singapore was

Secretary General and Treasurer role of the World Federation of Personnel
Management Associations (WFPMA) for the term
2006-2008.
In May 2006, SHRI hosted the
11th World HR Congress and
Business-Connect Exposition, which was the biggest
international HR event ever to be held in the Asia Pacific and
Singapore.
Our Commitment to Powering Human
Capital
“The HR profession has, indeed, evolved over
the years and to bring it to the next level playing field, we must go
the way of “Human Competitiveness Management”. We should think far,
beyond the management of HR functions in corporations and focus on the
WHYs, WHATs and HOWs human contributions can be created and sustained to
enhance corporate growth and the progress of a society and nation.”
Mdm Ho Geok Choo
President, SHRI
"There is more to HR than meets the eye.
People have construed HR as an administrative function that hires and
fires employees only, but it isn't. The industry has evolved from the
era of being merely one of personnel management to one of human capital
management. It is also important to redefine the HR function as a
strategic partnership with other key players within a business, and one
that helps an organisation to minimise costs"
